After reviewing hundreds of formulas for The Scientific Method, I found one guide to the stages of the method the most concise and teachable, and closest to actual practice. Dr. K.B.M. Crooks presented that guide, "Suggestions for Teaching the Scientific Method," at the December 1958 meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 1992, I updated Dr. Crooks formula by adding several ingredients and changing some terms.
Since 1992 I have found no changes necessary in Parts I, II, and III of the SM-14 formula. In 1996, I changed the supporting or operating ingredients in Part IV, to explain the complete system or process of science.
Those who study The Scientific Method in detail will feel an awe and admiration for such a great basic method to refine, advance, and apply knowledge.

Remember the Following Statements Have Been Made About The Scientific Method:
"It is an imperfect method but so phenomenally successful that all fields have adapted it to the almost total exclusion of any other problem-solving method."
